by Anonymous on 2018-05-19Caller: Claimed to be Telstra Technical DepartmentThe all to familiar "You have a problem with your Internet Connection" . The caller had an accent (Indian I think). Have now I have received over 8 calls in the last 6 days mostly from different numbers including (02) 9818 2798 - (03) 5941 5873 and (02) 9955 5166. It seems they are able to generate false numbers to get past the Incoming Call blocking. I was not compromised by the caller and advised him that I had spoken to Telstra and they advised that they do not call customers and access their computer and also that the ACCC advises that this type of call is a scam. This did not deter him as he still persisted to feed me a lot of dribble. I asked for his contact number, name and ID No. He refused and advised me to ring telstra Help line and that I was wasting his time, then hung up. - confirming the call is a scam. Within the hour he called back again and started the pitch all over again. Honestly I'm getting sick of this.
