by Anonymous on 2023-03-08I received a missed call from this phone number. and number that I was unfamiliar with that specific area code, and following prefix. So I did a Google search it found that it’s come from Canberra Australia. I have absolutely no business or personal connections in that jurisdiction. I can only guess had I had not read other peoples personal accounts. I would have assumed it was a government department extension number, and likely called them back however, usually the scammers marketing “Charity” or helping save “a child’s life” have all incoming calls directly. Go to a voicemail system or two a automated cut off. I’m very disappointed that Australia never seems to fix problems with people being inconvenient to the tune of millions of dollars of wasted time a day because of these scams. I think in the eight years that I lived in Canada I am not once received a phone call trying to sell something to me unless I had given my number out specifically for that purpose. When I found out all my information was kept on a national call, register, which charities, nonprofits, as well as profitable, corporations all have access to for fee. They are only know your full name, residential address, date of birth drivers license information. They also have your income information likely from the tax returns you file. And a whole bunch of other information that I was astounded, ever existed, or would be sold by the Australian government to capitalist companies, who pray on vulnerability. It’s really unfortunate. What’s taking place here as there are many ignorant people around to think that maybe the United States is really the most capital place you can possibly get. Well that might be the case for any individual that’s wanting to start a company however, when it comes to companies that are already set up and organized Australian government, almost undoubtedly, is the most capitalist nation in the world, assisting these greedy corporations, and giving them personal private information which is protected by a legal statute or the privacy act .
by Anonymous on 2023-02-18Left a voicemail. Spoken in Chinese, so obviously a scammer.. they don't realise that not everyone actually speaks Chinese in Australia. Probably from the Chinese embassy in Canberra. Reported and blocked
