"Just to inform you that we just received a legal complaint under your name, and the complaint is for tax fraud and tax avoidance case, so finally before we go and take the matter into the local district court, and before we issue a warrant under your name, call us back on our number that is (02) 5306 2281, I repeat the number, that is (02) 5306 2281, do not disregard this message and do return the call as soon as possible. Again this is agent Lee and I'm calling you from the Australian Taxation Office." The next one was exactly the same voice, definitely the same person but this time they gave a different name and phone number ending with a different digit. "We just received a legal complaint under your name and the company's for tax avoidance and tax fraud issued under your name, so finally before we go ahead and take the matter into the local district court and before we issue a warrant under your name, kindly call us back on our number, that is (02) 5306 2283, I repeat the number that is (02) 5306 2283 do not disregard this message and do return the call as soon as possible. by Anonymous on 2017-09-06It is a tax scam. Contact the ATO https://www.ato.gov.au/about-ato/about-us/contact-us/report-fraud,-scams,-tax-evasion-or-a-tax-planning-scheme/ 13 28 61 I did. Took about 5 minutes all up to collect the information.

He states its a very important message for tax fraud and tax avoidance and would call the 'district court' if I don't respond immediately. Please be aware this is a SCAM and not to give any financial details to this person.

Someone is paying the bills for this phone number to remain in use, and Telstra (or another phone billing company) is taking money for a phone service that they know is being used for illegal purposes. Why are they not doing anything about it?
