Don't ever take a survey on the phone. Particularly if they sound like a scam. They want to record you saying 'yes', 'no' your name etc so they can use if for voice verification of your tax or banking details. They can pretend to be you, by saying "yes" etc. Once they have your voice recorded, they can do that. If someone asks if you are "your name". Say "How can I help you" rather than saying "yes". Just don't say "yes".

by Anonymous on 2021-03-15Same message as everyone else but I was called on two other numbers as well 0426 546 966 and 0425 850 069. I didn’t press 1 as advised but hung up instead. Scammers! Just blocked numbers, but these guys are persistent. They called three times yesterday and three times today! Let’s see what tmr brings.

This number is spoofed, meaning it is masked & hidden to hide the real number from Australia or Overseas that they are calling from to scam people. I too am receiving persistent calls from this number in the evenings then followed by an unknown Melbourne numbet that I intentionally don't answer & they never leave voicemail messages. I don't call back, because being scammers, I'll never get the truth from them anyway. Please, do not give unknown callers your time & definitely do not give them your name or any personal details. These scammers are pests that scam people in different ways. Thank you all for sharing to keep the rest of us informed. You can always report these numbers to ASIC, ACCC, TELECOMMUNICATION OMBUDSMAN & YOUR SERVICE PROVIDER.

by Anonymous on 2020-10-26Caller: Indian manHi you all! I answered. The guy told me it was a survey a private investigation for the Government. He (Indian accent) knew my name. First question: Do u think NSW is handling the Virus well? 2nd; Do u think NWS is the best state to live in? 3rd: Job and age? 4th: single? 5th; postcode. Lately I was sent a letter from Services NSW warning me than my NSW account had been hacked in March. Basically I was one of the 180 thousand people that they were victims of an attempt of phishing. So I was quite cuorious to understand more if they were related. So i played the role giving all the info. But as soos as I asked more about how are gonna be treated my personal information and data. He literally told me "f*ck off" and hang out. I'll call tomorrow to report the issue.
