I called them back and called out on them that they are impersonating ATO and lying, then he swore in Hindi language (I know Hindi) and hung up. Tried calling number it said voicemail box to this number is full Will ring directory assistance tomorrow and find out who this number belongs to if I can’t be helped I will take the number and submit it to my local police station 🚉 see what they say

I called back & was told the ATO had an arrest warrant out for me...I advised if they wanted to talk to me..it would be easy for them to find me as I also worked for the ATO & they could contact me internally. He hung up on me.

by Anonymous on 2020-03-04Caller: Overseas scammers threatening arrest warrant from tax departmentI rang Telstra on 132200 and reported it and they blocked overseas calls on my home line. Also, they are sending me an email with instructions about how to ward off these calls on my mobile. Although it has 02 as the prefix, they are scammers from overseas. If you call them back, you will probably be charged an overseas rate. So do not call back.

Caller: Scamers - RobocallScam call allegedly from the ATO. This is a known scam. The scammers will ask you to send them vouchers to repay the debt. DO NOT provide your details to them or attempt to pay. They will threaten you with police arrest if you hang up, but this is a lie to try and pressure you into paying immediately. If you are concerned about owing the ATO any money hang up and call them separately, but they will never ask for debt to be paid in vouchers and they also have payment plans available for tax debt.
