this is harrassment sick of blocking various numbers from panthea for debts that don't exist from an account I have never even had.

everytime you block a number they call back on a new one

Panthera scammers saying I have a debt with them and I've never heard of them before. Never had a late payment in my life.

Absolute scum bags....... I'm not paying a bill for Power Direct that had been paid....... BOTH Power Direct and Pantera are two companies that the Accc need to crawl up there arses and Labotamiz them......

It's full on harassment! I'm getting calls at 8:30 and 7am from this number! They don't leave any messages on voicemail but Harry's me non stop as in they call me from 3 or 4 different numbers in one day. Call 1 - 7:02am Call 2 - 7:35am Call 3 - 10:30am Call 4 - 1:15pm Call 5 - 3:30pm Call 6 - 7:00pm Call 7 - 7:20pm Call 7 - 8:25pm Sometimes I get silence when I answer the phone. This is nuts!! There about 4 or 5 diff numbers they use but some are very similar with just one or two numbers changed. They have more then one staff member calling me too. I speak to one person explain I have no money. If I did I wouldn't have these debts. I'm declaring Bankruptcy. Spend nearly 30 mins on phone. Then the next person calls half hr later and let's do it all again!! These are for accounts from between 6-20 yrs ago they're chasing up too.

I’ve noticed more than a few posts here regarding this debt collecting company called Panthera Finance, a company which makes its living preying on vulnerable people who have fallen into hard times. I was unlucky enough to have to deal with them recently and although the matter is now resolved I feel this information may help some of you guys who are unlucky enough to have to be in the same situation as me at some point in your lives. From what i’ve been able to find out, Panthera Finance / State Merchantile are companies that operate from Brisbane and are owned by two holding corporations called HMB INVESTMENTS PTY LTD and HJK INVESTMENTS PTY LTD. State Merchantile are the acquisition branch which buys the debts and Panthera Finance run the call centre which harasses you. The company has taken great pains to hide the following information from the public: Registered place of business: Level 4, 54 Jephson Street, Toowong, QLD, 4066 (This is a small office with a couple of staff used only for administrative purposes) Call centre where the staff making the harassing phone calls work: 555 Coronation Drive, Toowong, QLD, 4066, bottom level of the building on the right directly as you walk in, “State Merchantile” on the sign. (The head compliance officer and director of the company Mathew David Huges works here) Another registered address of the company not used as the call center: Merrotts Level 6, 241 Adelaide Street, Brisbane Owners/Directors of Panthera Finance and State Merchantile are two twins from Wollongong who now live in Brisbane: Mathew David Hough, 34 years old Jamie Grant Hough, 34 years old Mathews daughter who works in a management position for the company is named Bree or Corina (Not sure which) and Jamies wife is named Karen which I guess explains the choices of HMB and HJK for the holding companies. The entire operation seems to be a family affair from the Hough clan who are making their money off the backs of those of us who fall into debt. Over the last 4-5 years they have managed to take millions of dollars from the less fortunate, often including the elderly and in some cases (looking through some posts on Whirlpool) even the family members of people who have died. Both Jamie and Mathew live in houses worth over $2mil and the company itself has an average of $1.86mil in Annual revenue. If you are being harassed by them and live in Brisbane I suggest turning up to their office and dealing with the situation face-to-face. This a much more effective way to resolve your issues with them than through the telephone which is where they are in their element and most able to exert pressure on you. I also have the home addresses of both Mathew and Jamie, their exact dates of births as well as the names and addresses of most of the people who currently work in their call centre. I haven’t posted this stuff because I don’t want to inadvertently break the law so if anyone can prove to me that I won’t be doing anything illegal by publishing it I will. Don’t let these scumbags take advantage of you!

Have blocked 27 mobile numbers to date, now the a holes are calling me at 9pm. I know if you dodge a debt for more than 6 yrs no one can claim it & it has to be written off, however these f*ktards don't get it & are relentless in their pursuit. Time for a new number under a dodgy name 😜

Wouldn't identify himself Claimed I owed money to a company I've never hear of, and couldn't find in the phone book. Claimed to know where I lived and if I didn't give him my credit card details, threatened to come around and belt me one.

Whatever you do, DO NOT admit that you have a debt. If they threaten you, hang up. If they serve you with a legal notice, seek legal advice. The guys buy written off debts and try to collect on them. OFTEN, they don't have a leg to stand on and can't provide the original contract. They work on bluff and intimidation and hope for the best.

Never give your name to any number you don't recognise. And say, please state the company you are from. When they don't play with them a bit. Because until you tell them your name there is nothing they can do. They will try and get an indication using a few trick, but just think out everything they ask. I kept one idiot from Panthera going for 20 minutes before he gave up LOL... However, if they mention a debt before you give them your name REPORT THEM.ha ha ha ha...
