Very polite, Australian-accented man. Lots of happy, busy call centre sound in background. Said he was from 'Information Network Australia' (that title didn't even sound right!). Wanted to inform me of possible incentives (Covid related) from the government that I may not know about. I said, then send me the details. He said he needed to ask questions to narrow down potential incentives. I said, sounds like a scam, He said, we only want ballpark figures. I said, then I'll look at your website instead. He said I wouldn't find it by Google, only by putting it in the address bar. He had a frustrated giggle. I said... thanks for that and hung up. Dodgey.....

Caller: Some nice gentlemen He gave me a call about a special deal on ballgags and dildos. I said I’ll take the deal if he throws in a case of KY jelly.

Caller: BlakeSeems dodgy to me. Very 'generic' questions. I went along with the questions providing simple answers I was comfortable with to see what the 'incentives' might be and he said that it takes a while for the computer to work out the incentives, could he call back a bit later once it had an answer... this makes it seem even more dodgy. I had a look at their website and the information is super generic, but reflects what they say. The website is registered to MARKETSOLVE PTY LTD which is a call centre on the Gold Coast. It seems they create 'leads' for investment property sales.

A quick ABN search shows the business name “information network australia” is linked to an entity called “Marketsolve Pty Ltd” which according to its website provide a lead generation service for companies offering property investments. Given the “marketers” are using a pretence of helping you gain government COVID financial assistance in order to gather information for unrelated sales leads is such poor form.

Rang. Went to voice mail. Didn't leave a message. Annoying.

Calling about government incentives and to see if I am eligible - hung up before the caller could continue

Caller said they are from the “information centre” calling about government incentives. Very vague answers provided once I started probing deeper about company information. Clearly a scam, hang up and block

This number has called me numerous times over the last 2 days. I answered the first time and they hung up after a few seconds. Now they keep calling. I don't answer. No messages left. I'm going to block them based on the comments here.

Apparently the Information Network offering supposed government incentives. Definitely a scam as they hung up on me after one tough question back to them.

Caller: Networks Australia - they claimHigh per min call rates vs standard. Did not speak with these scammers, called back via a blocked number. Others who spoke to say they are phishing, they also make money on high call rates. Block the number. If you answer abuse them.

Caller: CAROL Apparently from www. informationnetworkaustralia.com.au which doesn't exist. Government incentives claiming needs a few details to assess your eligibility. but is polling for personal information.
