Received a message that i had a phone appt at 2pm, 1.5 hours later they call, then they start asking me questions for all my personal details, i said you should have it all in the Gov system, I asked what is their full name, place of work & Id number, then they hung up. Beware it all looks real & pro, very sophisticated scam, don't fall for it. This is a great way for Identity theft or your Money.

Yes, It's happening to my friends too, they even sound professional, & it is hard to decipher, very dangerous as they ask you for all your private details as verification & then next thing they make a fake ID, & it escalates from there, IF it was Legit then Centrelink would leave a message.

1800 110 608 message from Centrelink phone appointment made for on Saturday at 10.15 am if don’t pickup than CentreLink penalty;eg delaying or stop payment. I discuss my family members today is Saturday, never overtime their I thought maybe at home working they phone appointment. I call this answering machine they ask CRN and DOB. I cut the phone. No its fake. There is no appointment booked on the website

This number is legit. Sent email regarding Job Capacity Assessment with assessor and appt.time and date. They should not have cause have medical exemption.

I just received a message saying " you have a phone interview with Centrelink on 10/3/25 at 10.30am. If you are unable to attend. Do not reply by SMS." Thanks for the information that this is a scam. I thought it was. I was only at Centrelink last week.. Man that's scary.

I thought this may be a scam as well, but found the number on Social Services website. It is a Job Capacity Assessment line. I just received a text as well, because I have just put in a DSP application.

Received a text message saying I had an appointment with Centrelink and a date and time and to call this number if I couldn’t attend. I wasn’t sure about it so I called Centrelink on their usual number and queried it as it didn’t show up in my Centrelink appointment list, they advised it was legit and was to do with return to work assessment / assistance as currently receiving sickness benefits. She said it doesn’t show in usual appt list as it is done by an outside party,. A day or two before the appointment I did receive an email in myGov inbox stating what the appt was and reconfirming the time and what to do if couldn’t attend, day of the call got the usual Centrelink text messages saying the call was coming. If in doubt always check!

This is a genuine number. I rang Centrelink Fraud line and they were able to go into my account and comfirm that it was genuine and that a hard copy of the notification was in the mail.

To anyone who is receiving many calls from 18001106, local mobile numbers, & silent numbers, Do Not answer them, Nor hand over any personal details, as these treacherous low life criminals will have already some personal information about you, making it so believable that you surrender more of your confidential information. They check to see if you are alone, & vulnerable as well, where my cameras have captured suspicious persons attending to my door, & checking my door locks & letter box that follows soon after these calls & texts saying i have a phone interview at some time later, then they call you either from a normal mobile number you would expect to see, or a private number. I am an elderly lady & a quadriplegic which is extremely worrying for me. Do Not answer to them, ask for their number, ID name, company so you can check the number & report it to the police immediately. Beware of these treacherous lot of criminals as they have already personal information, possibly hacked from some government dept or darkweb.

I checked this number out for my wife who received message - Scam. Notice all the replies saying it is a legit number are all anonymous.

Text message says it is from Centrelink, giving me an appointment at a time I cannot attend. Says to call 1800 110 608 if I can't attend. Not their usual number. It also does not say Reminder at the top, and it does not say a Services Australia representative will be calling me. Looks dodgy to me. I note that all the comments saying this is legit are anonymous, so could be scammers.

I received this number and appointment time by text in a week when I had commenced dealings with Centrelink. I supspected it might not be legit when no appointments showed up in my account but chose to call Centrelink directly on a legitimate contact number before I blocked it. The number is safe. It belongs to a 3rd party agency who are contracted to get further information (in my case regarding a disability pension claim).The Centrelink staff person confirmed the number to me, and said because this agency works with but not within Centrelink, that is the reason the appointments are not posted in your Centrelink account.

Caller: ScammerReceived a text saying I had an appointment with centtelink and to call this number. I called and phone was answered explained I had no appointment lady was claiming to be admin. Similar recorded messages but when asking.lady to direct me to where number was on services Australia page number couldn't be found..very sophisticated way to get someone's centrelink her references date of birth address etc. Don't fall for it.. if you can get through quick and yoi can't find 1800 on the government page then.dont fall for it.
