Scam Number After a phone call from (03) 9649 4920 on my mobile, which I quickly terminated and blocked, I received an SMS. 'Please call AGL Gas Connections on 1800 680 430 regarding on the gas abolishment request at your property. Thank you' What a scam, very poor English, 1800 number - what... Never had a gas connection at this property. Never dealt with AGL in any way shape or form. Why can't these numbers be immediately blocked.

I got text by company claiming to be AGL and that my service had been changed. Somehow managed to get the correct account (very worrying)! I read previous 2 messages about this number and did suspect it was a scam. Thanks for the headsup

SMS message on my phone regarding my account, quoting my correct account number with AGL and that "The alteration request for account.....has been approved by your distributor. For more information call us on 1800 680 430". As the 1800 number does not appear to be AGL's I will not be responding as supect it is a scam. Thanks for the info. to those who have also had this communication.

I got a text re my account but will not call back as this is not an AGL number

I have supposedly been contacted by AGL to upgrade my electricity meter, even though I have explained that I already have a smart meter and live in a strata complex, and the English is appalling. Whoever is contacting me is using the email address digitalmeters/agl.com.au instead of the reverse AGL email. They are trying to get the abloy key to access the owners corporation power box. I got the runaround at AGL this morning and cannot talk to anyone to get clarification if it is a scammer. They have used the phone numbers 1300 669 245 and 1800 680 430.

I am not wit origin and considering other complaints said this number is an AGL spam number, no not call this number

Caller: MailI have been sent in mail a credit with agl for over $150.00 i have not had gas on my premises since I canceled agl 17 years ago and have never paid more than $50

Got scam message from this number text says it came from ‘AGL’ sating a alteration request at my property has been approved and to ring 1800 680 430 I believe it is a scam Because all my regular communications with AGL come through on a different number so no way would I ring this number back.

Caller: AGL1800 680 430 is the AGL number for new connections, you can find it on that section of their website. Turns out this was a request by the distributor to upgrade the meter to a smart meter. I did escalate my call to the complaints department suggesting that a more descriptive, and less spam like, message would stop concerns or even that they might write to people to let them know.

I received this message today "The alteration request for account.....has been approved by your distributor. For more information call us on 1800 680 430". I do not recognize this number, and will not be calling it. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
