Caller: Bank of Melbourne (owned by Westpac)Legit caller. Calling regarding Bank of Melbourne - requesting feedback on leaving the bank (BOM is a subsidiary of Westpac).
by Anonymous on 2024-11-04Genuine Westpac/StGeorge/BankSA/Bank of Melbourne phone number
by Anonymous on 2025-03-04Caller: Westpac InsuranceLegitimate call about Westpac Insurances after I initially contacted them and this was a call back to assist with my inquiry.
by Anonymous on 2025-03-06Caller: Westpac/StGeorge/BankSA/Bank of MelbourneGenuine Westpac/StGeorge/BankSA/Bank of Melbourne phone number calling to follow up on a complaint filed. Missed the first call then staff emailed from a BOM email requesting best time and contact number to reach. Called back the next day, same staff member’s name as the email, and resolved my complaint ticket over the phone. Phone verification proves their reliability with partial information, rather than scammers who would ask for you entirely to divulge information - e.g. “I have your date of birth xxth in front of me, could you confirm the corresponding month and year?” or “I have your home address in front of me at xxxxxx Avenue, could you confirm your unit number, street number, suburb and state?” Everyone should be cautious of scammers spoofing numbers regardless, but if you bank with a bank in the Westpac group and are expecting a response on a matter you raised, expect a call from this number.
by Anonymous on 2025-06-05I had received a couple of calls from this number and thought it might be marketers. Yesterday I answered the call and it was from someone at Westpac asking whether I had received an email about changes to my credit card. I had received that email a few weeks ago. Therefore, the number is legit and not scammers.
by Anonymous on 2025-06-07Caller: St. GeorgeSt. George bank calling to respond to a complaint I had lodged the same week. A rare legit call, but I had already marked the phone number as a scammer on my phone previously, because they didn't leave a message the previous time. Oh well, that is on them, I guess.
by Anonymous on 2025-06-11Caller: Scammer Scam call
by Anonymous on 2025-06-12Number is legit Westpac Group number - ie. Westpac, St George, Bank SA and Bank of Melbourne
by Anonymous on 2025-06-18Caller: Vidhi NagoriI ignored the call but then received an email saying he was from westpac . He was wanting to know are we happy banking with them and to email him back on the link he provided. Im sceptical because it was his own personal email .
by Anonymous on 2025-07-29Caller: Bank of MelbourneThis is a legit number from Bank of Melbourne. They called about my recent approval for a home loan and asked if I need any other services.
by Anonymous on 2025-07-30Caller: Westpac loan consultant Legit number from Westpac.
by Anonymous on 2024-08-08The fact that all the previous comments below show DIFFERENT bank institutes being represented WHILE the called knowing details about individual accounts PROVES this is a scam caller. Only the bank itself would know the account details, and they would not be promoting business for another bank. And if it's a mortgage broker or a representative that takes commission from representing multiple banks, then they cannot know your account details without you having shared it with them first. STOP giving them your details. This sounds like an elaborate scam. The scammers are probably coming on to this site too to post positive messages about a number to further them scam.
by Anonymous on 2024-09-10Got called from this number saying I "requested a callback" and when I said I didnt they hung up. When I called my bank's fraud department they said no records exist of me requesting any callback. So very suspicious. I also agree with the other report -> The scammers are probably coming on to this site too to post positive messages about a number to further their scam.
by Anonymous on 2024-12-11Caller: Alisha on behalf of Bank of MelbourneReceived a call from Alisha from Bank of Melbourne on this number. THIS IS A LEGITIMATE NUMBER. They knew the exact status of my current loan, and were calling to discuss my plans with the loan and to make me aware of my options. After the call ended, I called 1300 720 314 - Bank of Melbourne/Westpac Group's customer service line to check the legitimacy of this call. The person I spoke to confirmed that Alisha was from the bank, and that there were notes left against my account mirroring the earlier conversation. This would not happen with a scammer. Repeat; legitimate call. Alisha was also wonderful to speak to. If I wasn't so weird, I would gladly share a cup of tea or coffee with her.
by Anonymous on 2025-05-06Caller: Said they were from WestpacWatch out for the dodgy email they send asking you to click a link to check your account.
by Anonymous on 2024-01-08Caller: St GeorgeLegit call. I requested a call back and they returned my call on this number.
by Anonymous on 2024-08-21Called but didnt leave a message or voicemail.
by Anonymous on 2021-10-12Caller: westpac consultantthought it was a scam at first but then she was able to list my accounts and totals without telling her any of my details, was a call about my home loan and to look at new home loan products with lower interest rates
by Anonymous on 2024-06-13I received an SMS from a mobile number, saying that a "Westpac Specialist" would call me later today on (02) 9155 5984. As if. I blocked the mobile number and will do the same with the landline number when they call.

The banks mentioned below (Westpac, St George and Bank SA) are all owned by Westpac Banking Corp, so could definitely all be calling using the same number.
