Caller: Scammer pretending to be from NBN technical supportCalled at 7pm on a weekday. A robo voice said “your NBN will get cut off in the next 24 hours, press 1 to speak to a technician” I pressed 1, an Indian sounding woman answered and told me my internet service was insecure and that she would help me to secure it. I told her “no, your not from NBN you’re a scammer” and she got panicked and changed her story. I continued and told her “I know you’re not from NBN technical department because NBN doesn’t deal in the security of my service” - which is true I work in info security so I have a heads up on this. At this point the lady panicked and hung up on me - LOL DONT NOT ANSWER, do not give them any details or any money. Your internet service is completely safe. If you are still panicked, hang up and directly called you internet service provider using the phone number on their website or on your bills and ask them to confirm everything is safe. Please stay safe out there guys. These people are incredibly brutal and don’t care who they hurt!
