Say from Hills for NBN, wanting to come into the house and outdoor to do a change of equipment, but Hills is not on the NBN providers list. It has a we page also with 1.2 stars out of 5.

by Anonymous on 2024-05-08The text messages look legitimate but there's a time pressure to accept the appointment (first red flag), the want to come out within 48hrs of the text being sent (how about no/second red flag), and the text reads like there isn't an option to decline (never respond/click on a link even if it's to 'opt out'). They don't have a website or shopfront. Block and report as spam.

Basically, wanting you to confirm by return text “Yes” for a “re-pan/swapout” of your NBN outdoor/indoor unit the very next day. Which might sound impressive but technically is just rubbish. Plus wanting to do the "work" the very next day is very much a red flag. The 1300 723 585 number given is for Hills Technical Services – a legitimate company. I contacted my ISP and they knew nothing about it. They also said that any such NBN infrastructure work is always advised days/weeks in advance by email.
