Had 4 calls from similar number this week. Bank? Telstra? PayPal? Must think everyone is stupid

As previous reports multiple calls from this and similar numbers. I am unable to answer calls quickly so it goes to message bank... and immediately rings off. Attempts by a family member to call that number go directly to a an unfriendly "get lost" message ...

Suprised this number is still actively scamming.

A Saturday evening attempted call from a blocked range of numbers (04 8887...). They are relentless scamming lowlifes who call from a range of numbers, so far ending in 9205, 5617 and 2289 as well as 9205. Please do not ever answer calls from unknown numbers or this plague of scamming and harassment will never end. Any legitimate caller will leave a message and you can call back if you choose to. So just don't answer.

stated $700 plus PayPal transaction was to be taken. I hung up before the call could be finished as automated and suspected it to be a scam. Going by the comments above it was - number now blocked!

Calls, doesn’t leave a message. I don’t know you, am not picking up. Surely you are a scammer.

There is a direct link between this number and a few other 04888......... numbers and also to scam calls from fake ES area codes, including (07) 3180 5804. But the enabler of all these scam calls is Telstra who has access to this site and still has not shut down the numbers after multiple reports. It is Telstra duty to protect customers privacy and NOT allow theft or spoofing of numbers. Once they know they have a legal obligation to act accordingly. These scammers cannot operate whilst Telstra is doing their job. Which they are not.

When I answered this call, it was abruptly terminated (from the other end). I had received a suspected scam call from a similar mobile number about a half hour earlier, the only difference being that the last digit of this number was a few numbers higher than the first. I would say that the scammers have a block of numbers that they are using for their activities. It will be interesting to see if they try any more!
