Very realistic,The give away is "Threatning to suspend your Accountant also "Not asking for,or sending a six digit code to you for confirmation it's really is you.

Caller: it's a letter have gotten a couple letters with Bank west heading - not sure if it's a scam .......asking to re verify ID........ for Bank West by calling this number

Caller: Letter supposed to be from BankwestLetter appears to be from Bankwest demanding ID verification or accounts may be restricted. If they did send this, then it is a real disgrace. Left message with them online to get verification that this is real. I will NOT provide any ID details until I get verification. I have been with this lot for DECADES (since it was the R&I) and I do not like being threatened!

Caller: Emailed Received email purporting to be from Bank West advising I need to call this number to do an ID check. Only problem is - this number does NOT appear on BankWest account under Contact Details nor did I have a notification on my account page advising I needed to call in? SO I'll assume its a SCAM.

This phone number is related to a legitimate Bankwest letter that is sent out re updating customer ID. I phoned through to their digital services section obtained via my online banking. The bank officer was aware of said letter & confirmed it as legit. In my case I've been with them since 2003 & a check on my ID needed verifying. Definitely worth treating any correspondence like this as a possible scam. If you're still not comfortable with this then maybe moving over to a bank that still has branches you can walk into is worth consideration.

I also received a letter from Bankwest advising to contact them. It's regarding the closure of their branch offices and their transition to a 'digital bank'. The number appears legit. It is listed on Bankwest's website for their "Data Improvements Team". https://www.bankwest.com.au/help/applications/what-id-do-i-need (Right at the bottom.)
