When I called the number to find out who was trying to call, there is a recording saying "this number is disconnected due to suspected or fraudulent activity". Then found all these other messages. Hope they call back so that I can waste a whole lot of their time and save someone from being scammed. CREEPS!

by Anonymous on 2021-01-22Happily answered the call from Service Australia ATO tax dept in Mumbai and after supply my details and delaying them for 15min i was told i was wasting this time and to F((Koff MotherF768 i was shocked. thinking i might complain to the ATO about the way they spoke to me. sorry i couldn't delay them for more time but hopefully saved someone else from getting scammed by wasting their time.

I asked where he was from and he gave me a Melbourne address. He asked for my name, I asked what is it about and he said a TAX file issue. I said why would I have an issue I am just a worker. He then just hung up. Total fake tread with care.

Didnt answer but thanks to this page I will block the numbers. Firstly the tax office don’t call usually - they send letters, secondly once you have a tax file number you always have that number even if you are retired. Tax file numbers aren’t suspended
