by Anonymous on 2012-04-17There is yet another phishing scam targeted at NZ . What makes it dangerous and possibly effective is that they have purchased a phone number from (I am told) from Symbio Networks. It appears on the PUP popup on the internet pretending to be from Microsoft - you know the one - " You have a virus and we will shut down your computer if you do not phone this number etc" but because it is a local number (to Northland New Zealand) many people may believe it is legit, then call it. After which they have given away their credit card details etc=empty credit card. Is it not time that phone number providers were held accountable? Why would you sell a NZ local number to these scammers Symbio???? Without the phone number they have no scam. Time to be held accountable I think.
