Caller said my computer is affected with malicious spywar malware etc........I said he sounded suspicious and ended the call.
by Anonymous on 1970-01-01Same Scam except the company referred to themselves as Irecure "Janiel" (Indian voice) got rather stroppy when I kept asking where he got my details from.Note these guys had my name, phone and address details - probably from whitepages.would recommend anyone affect report this to http://www.scamwatch.gov.au/
by Anonymous on 1970-01-01The number showed up as unknown but they claimed to be from Globaltech. I could barely understand him. But even after telling him I knew he was a fraud he kepted asking if I would go to my computer so he could show me something to prove he was not a fake. He asked me which windows application I used and I replied "if you know all about my computer you wouldn't ask me that". I then asked him what name the computer was registered to and he said my name. I told him that's all the proof I needed to know that he was a liar. I am not the primary listed on the computer. I'm so glad I got rid of that guy. I then looked up this website and saw how many people have been called. They probably try to show you a particular "file" name that's on your computer. Saying that the virus downloaded it and is killing your computer. This scam has happened in the past. What most people don't know is that the file they are referring to is SUPPOSED to be there. That's why they asked me which windows application I use. I'm sure the files have different names according to which version you have. Please don't give these people any information.
by Anonymous on 1970-01-01Got two calls from Global Tech Company on (02) 8003 4343 by a man called Peter Jones telling me I have a virus on my Microsoft computer. Liars! I dont even own a computer with Windows. Do not give these people anything! This is a massive scam all over Australia. Simply hang up or tell them you know its a scam!
by Anonymous on 1970-01-01I have a Hp and and apple mac he said both my laptops are infected is this true?
by Anonymous on 1970-01-01This was the return 'number' given to a customer of mine from persons pretending to be from Microsoft, with an urgent risk to his PC, he just needs to goto a site and run this patch. the line rings once then ends. dodgy bastards.
by Anonymous on 2011-02-21Scam. Caller apparently named "David" from Microsoft. Says there are problems with the PC. Obviously dodgy!
by Anonymous on 2011-02-24given as a number by a scammer from india (assumed) for details of scam, google EVENTVWR, and hit the first link, or just read on google and get the gist.
by Anonymous on 2011-06-02Received a call from a lady stating the company's name is IRECURE. Told me my computer is infected and has problems and is causing problems. Wanted me to type in commands to my computer. I told her my computer is fine and she argued. I got company's phone number and told her they are scammers and hung up.
by Anonymous on 2011-07-21I have had 8 calls from these people so far, work/home/mobile all saying the same thing as above, I work for a large IT company from home and they are telling me one of the servers on the LAn is "having errors" Very interesting as my "LAN" consists of ONE pc, ONE router ONE adsl modem
by Anonymous on 2011-08-12I had a call from this number today. The caller said he was a technician from Irecure and he could fix our computer problems (namely Windows problems). Is this a legit company? I felt that it was a scam and asked for the phone number and told him we would call back if necessary. It isn't necessary as we have no problems with our computers. Irecure does have a web presence at www.irecure.wordpress.com. Of course this does not mean they are a legitimate company.

just got called this morning 07:15 by a Asian sounding man proclaiming he was calling from Microsoft and that i had a serious virus infection on my computer that would crash my 'hard-drives''... immediately if i did not follow his instructions... I said my computer was not at this location and he seemed confused insisting that he was calling from Microsoft and i needed to log onto my computer asap he knew my name and phone number and my address... he said his name was Kumar, the call must have been from overseas... and he spoke English (with Indian accent) to me even tho we are living in Scandinavia.. :S my son told him to piss off and told me it was a scam. should i be worried? anyone else living in Sweden got this call?
