However, when I have answered they do not reply straight away but can hear someone breathing so a person is definitely there - very weird and creepy. My advice no not answer this number and call CBA on their official number if needed.

Reading here it's CBA about hardship etc but they deal with my partner for our mortgage and haven't called him at all. Number is getting blocked, as it calls before 9am and after 8pm, so unlikely to actually be CBA

It seems that this line is about financial hardship and they are trying to lure you in to a contract to become a debtor.

by Anonymous on 2023-06-02Caller: Claim to come from Commonwealth BankThis aggressive and rude Indian Man claimed to be from the Commonwealth Bank called me today, and he demanded that I release my name, address and date of birth to verify my identity because the bank needed to speak to me urgently. I told him I won't release my details because I could not verify who he was. I called the CBA and they confirmed that the bank had never attempted to call me today. This number was used to call me twice today, and again last night at 8pm. When he called last night, he hung up when I answered the call. This number is definitely a scam per CBA.
