Call from ‘Kevin’ supposedly from NAB fraud department. Long pause before caller spoke. Hung up on me when I challenged him.

by Anonymous on 2025-03-26Caller: Apparently a "certified technician from Telstra"Got a call from a lady going on and on about my IP address being public and trying to get access to my devices. Scam call trying to hijack devices and steal private data. These days any idiot around the world can call as if calling from local or mobile Australian numbers. Looks like I need to stop answering any incoming calls unless I personally know the number. If they leave a voicemail message or text me, great. Otherwise I don't think I need to bother about it.

I told her that PayPal doesn’t call customers and she started yelling at me saying I had to decide if I wanted to cancel it or let it go through. Told her I would sort it myself as she clearly wasn’t from PayPal and she kept yelling at me until I told her she clearly doesn’t work for PayPal and then hung up on me
