by Anonymous on 2023-11-23Woman with Indian accent called saying from AGL, asked if everything was alright and I answered 'yes' then she hung up.
by Anonymous on 2023-11-24Caller: AGLThis was from AGL who I have an account with. It wasn't a scam.
by Anonymous on 2023-12-01Caller: Fake AGL salesperson Posed as an AGL salesperson offering a better offer for internet and electricity then went on to offer a too good to be true internet offer with a "free" modem if you stayed on the no lock in contract plan for 12 months. Was beginning to believe this was real as the caller ID even appeared as AGL but then when I was confirming basic personal details the caller asked for my driver's licence number and when I could not supply the caller asked for my medicare then my passport number. The caller even had an automated T&C's message play before the call ended and a customer feedback text from a mobile number following the call. The caller also claimed to be from Sydney even though the number begins in 07. NEVER give out personal details over the phone when being contacted. They almost got me there.
by Anonymous on 2024-12-17I received a call from someone claiming to be from AGL, offering me a "better deal." He asked if XXX was still my authorised contact person—which was shocking, as XXX is my ex-boyfriend whom I broke up with five years ago! I have definitely updated my contact details on my actual AGL account, so this immediately made me sceptical. Then, he started asking for my personal details to "confirm my identity." I did a quick online search and found that this number has been reported as a scam by many people. To end the call, I told him I was at work and that it wasn’t a good time to talk. I asked him to email me the information instead, but he kept insisting that I provide my email address. If this were really AGL, they should already have my contact details and could have simply sent the information directly! I realised I had received a call from this same number last year on 12 July 2024. Back then, I didn't have the chance to double check and believed it was AGL and unfortunately shared my details. I really regret doing that and can only hope they haven’t misused my personal information. Have now blocked this number!
by Anonymous on 2025-03-04They called saying they were from AGL and wanted to confirm my personal details including my last name and address before telling me about their new rates. I asked them to email me about it as AGL has my email and told them I didn’t want to give my details over the phone. The man remained polite but could only send me a “confirmation text” but not an email. I told him obviously he had my number because he called me so that would not work but he still said no to email. He already knew my first name and suburb so maybe it’s legit but unlikely.
by Anonymous on 2025-04-14Caller: The said they were from AGLSCAM
by Anonymous on 2023-08-10They rung me 10 times today offering "freebies" and I hung up. I blocked and reported this number
by Anonymous on 2024-12-23Came up as "SCAM!"... Didn't leave a message... No message means, you don't know me and I don't know you... SCAM!!!..
by Anonymous on 2023-07-14Caller: (07) 3510 4921Constant calling for days. I answered and someone in a call centre advised they were from AGL and wanted to share me information regarding new rates. To do so they wanted me to provide them with my information. I said NO and that if they were AGL they could kindly email/post the information (seeing as they have that info already) and that I wouldn't be providing any personal information. Woman on phone got annoyed and pretty much hung up on me. Contacted AGL via their website chat, and they confirmed this is indeed a scam and that AGL themselves only provide such information via post or email. Avoid these calls.
