Caller: Capital WorldThe Asian lady said my details were provided by ComSec and I can make money by investing in Billion dollar companies about to enter the market in a few months time. I said I wasn't working at the moment and had limited financial capabilities which she said was not an issue and they wanted to send free papers out. When I said again my circumstances she hung up on me.

by Anonymous on 2024-09-12Caller: Some Asian ladyI answered the phone with a simple “hello”. She answered with “is this *my full name*?”. I replied with “uhh, maybe” and she hung up. My guess is, based on other complaints about this number, maybe trying to bait out responses to record and use against you to sign up to something or authorise something. I don’t think those scams are viable much these days though, so it probably isn’t that.

by Anonymous on 2024-09-16Caller asked to speak to a pseudonym I use, so I knew it was a scam. They hung up after I said "oh really, and what would you like to say to them". Presumably the name-number linkage is in some shady database from years ago. Unless google give such things out (gmail account)
