by Anonymous on 2021-04-30Caller: SAID HE WAS PETER, FROM MIRCROSOFTSCAM, he said my computer had been hacked. Everything looked so legit and he was very, very convincing that he was from Microsoft. I did not realise he had taken control of my computer- said I was entitled to a $160 refund (Anti-Virus credit) immediate transfer of $16K appeared in my a/c, which he wanted refunded, saying I had made the error and I must go to bank immediately, withdraw cash and then go to another bank (prefer National) and bank the cash (he would stay on the phone while I carry out both actions and do not tell anyone for legal reasons. I ended the call, went to my bank who identified that he had transferred the $16K from another of my accounts - One feels so stupid – thank goodness I did not lose any money. Unfortunately, I am now worried about Identity theft. The other number used was (02) 8660 1377
