Caller: Claimed to be Amazon.Claimed to be Amazon; thick Indian accent. Said I couldn't really understand and that I was at work then hung up. Shortly afterwards my PS5 order was cancelled as the whole account had been locked. Called customer service briefly at work to no avail (American accent). Called again when I got home; 3 bad lines, one hang up and one silent treatment later I get onto someone who proceeds to ask me for my email address, full address including post code and then asks for the OTP sent to my phone. At thus point I freaked out and hung up. Now I'm at a loss.
by Anonymous on 2022-01-15How do these dogs get so much information so quickly. Suggested he 'take a hike' and hung up. Not even 2 minutes later we get an email from them and then another phone call..... it's bullsh*t
by Anonymous on 2022-01-24I answered the phone and said "hello" and 2 seconds after silence, they hung up. On Truecaller, it red "Rep" which didn't mean anything to me.
by Anonymous on 2022-01-28Caller: (02) 7228 1103i didn't end up answering, as the number said it came from sydney and i live in queensland... they tried calling me twice in a row, immediately after i had placed an amazon order.
by Anonymous on 2022-04-07Caller: Claimed to be AmazonLike the other comments, the caller claimed to be from Amazon, I had trouble understanding what he was saying through his accent, but I picked up on the keywords that matched what I purchased about an hour earlier. So I confirmed and said 'yes'. They hung up, and my payment was processed just a couple of minutes after the call. I assume it's legitimate, but it was all very strange.
by Anonymous on 2022-04-18Caller: Claimed to be from AmazonSame as Thalita - 5-10 minutes after an order, guy with a foreign accent, not a great line, pause while the autodialler put me through to him. Wanted to confirm a recent large (and out of character) order. Knew what I had ordered, could quote me the order number and didn't want anything aside from confirming I'd placed the order. Chatted online to customer service, was told they never ring, only ever email. I said he didn't want anything aside from confirming that I had placed the order, so is it possible it was legitimate? Customer Service said "If he did not asked (sic) Then It can be a verification call". Possible with such a large company one hand doesn't know what the other is doing, and this is their own fraud protection Still not sure. Cancelled my order.

by Anonymous on 2022-06-01Caller: AmazonThis was admitedly very strange but I think it's legit. Phone call went as following: Caller: Hi I am calling from Amazon to confirm your order for a Macbook Pro, can I speak to {my first name}? Me: Yes this is them and yes that's my order Caller: Thankyou that's all I needed have a great day He then hung up. Strange but I have a very good password for my Amazon account and he didn't ask for any details and this is my real order also, I think it's legit but it is strange Communicate with them at your own risk
by Anonymous on 2022-09-13Caller: Said it was amazonThe caller claimed to be from Amazon. I didn't answer as it was 10.30pm. Rang again so I answered. I had trouble understanding what he was saying , but I picked up on the keywords that matched what I purchased earlier. So I confirmed and said 'yes'. They hung up.
by Anonymous on 2022-09-24Caller: AmazonAsked me whether I have purchased an Amazon gift card valued at $2000 dollars, I told her I locked my card this morning for a faud transatioin and it's not me.
by Anonymous on 2022-09-29Caller: Claimed to be from AmazonReceived a missed call from them 2 hours after placing an order with Amazon AU and they left a message saying they wanted to verify my order. I then checked with Amazon customer service and they had no record of any calls and it is NOT their policy to call to verify orders. Beware of callers from this number - must be scammers.
by Anonymous on 2022-10-27Caller: AmazonCalled, Asked my name and if I recently purchased certain items, which matched my recent Amazon order. And hung up. A few minutes later, my CC got charged (I placed the order two days ago but it never got charged). Items delivered next day.
by Anonymous on 2023-03-21Caller: AmazonSame as several people here, just got asked if I made a specific order. They probably do this on expensive orders as it was over $800 Also got this email from (no-reply @ amazon.com.au) which seems legit. "This email is to inform you that within the next 10 minutes we will be calling you, at the phone number ending with ***, to get your authorization for an order placed on 05/18/2023 using a visa card. As a reminder, Amazon will never ask for your card details or any other confidential information. Please do not share your card details or password with anyone. You can validate the authenticity of this email and the number we'll call you from by contacting the Amazon Customer Service team: -- https://www.amazon.com.au/contact-us -- Customers in Australia: 1800 064 122 So it seems legit. For them to know my order they'd have to be in my amazon account, in which case they wouldn't need to call me, they'd already be in.

by Anonymous on 2024-02-22Caller: Claiming to be AmazonI had 3 missed calls and a voicemail from someone with a thick Indian accent claiming to be Amazon asking me to verify my order. I've never had this before when ordering from Amazon.
by Anonymous on 2024-03-16Caller: AmazonThis seems to be legitimate. Amazon calling to confirm that I had purchased 4 gift cards in a row.

Caller: (02) 7228 1103A guy with a foreign accent called me saying he was from Amazon and wanted to confirm a purchase I made 5 minutes earlier. He knew everything! My name, address, the items and the total. I just replied yes, didn't give away any info that he already didn't know. It all seemed very suspicious. I did a quick search on Google and apparently Amazon does not call you to confirm orders. I wonder how on earth this scanners have so much info in such a short period? Well, rrying to protect myself of any future headache I went to my Amazon account to change my password which I couldn't find it easily so I deleted all credit card info and not planning on bay From Amazon again. I wasn't a fan, and this had really put me off!
