Caller: optusI also got 2 messages claiming I asked to switch my phone service to Optus and to enter the code. I did not initiate any such action. I of course did not enter the codes and instead googled the phone number listed on the sms. Must be a scam.

Caller: Text message from “OPTUS”Please do your research before clicking on any links sent to you via SMS. First red flag 🚩 is that supposedly, I had requested to transfer my number to Optus (Who I am already with) and sent a 6-digit code for me to enter. Second 🚩, the grammar within the message. If you’re unsure, please just call them yourself.

Caller: 'Optus'SMS claimed I had requested to transfer my mobile number to Optus. I was required to click on a link and enter a six-digit code before it expired in 10 minutes. Obviously I didn't make a request and deleted the message. Scammers.

Just got a call from (02) 9174 3000 saying he is from Optus porting team and would like to confirm details before porting. I got sceptical and asked which team he is from and he said porting team. I declined to provide any more info and asked to provide their optis official porting team number upon which the guy provided below number 1800 231 262. So this is a scammer calling people who might have asked for porting. But how are these guys getting this info, beats me, maybe an inside job?

Caller: "Optus"Received three text mesages, two of which requested me to enter code to transfer to "us". A quite well written scam telling me I had requested to port my number to Optus. Looking closer the grammar is not perfect but it is good. Contacted Optus, then my provider and confirmed that it was a scam, and that as I had not entered the codes there had been no request to port. Shortly after receiving SMS, received call (02) 9174 3000) from "Morrison" a senior specialist from "Optus" asking to speak to someone (not me) He asked why I did not want to port. I told him that I will ring Optus directly to see what is going on and won't be telling him any more. I did a search for (02) 9174 3000) on this site and it has been extensively reported as an Optus related scammer for years.
