I too had the same call twice in 2 days time.the guy claimed to be from the customer service of microsoft office located in sydney. After the frst call he conviced me that my computer had some problem and I need to buy the socurity protection form them it costs $399 for the lifetime warranty.Luckily my husband came home that time and he found something suspecious.I told him that I will think about it and will call him back.He provided me this no (02) 8003 5397.The next day he called me again to check my decision and I told him"" i am not interested"" . That idiot told that he is going to email the headoffice of microsoft in Newyork to stop all the technical support and my compuer wil crush down soon.
by Anonymous on 1970-01-01The trick to avoid this kind of SCAM, ask them this Question: "If you say that you recieve warning messages from my computer tell me my Public IP address please". I've just tried it and they said ahh we have all the details of you you need to belive us but they couldn't tell me my public IP address. The thing is, the public IP address can be seen via tracking softwares. So if anyone tells you something like this, they should be able to tell you your public IP address and your internet provider in some cases if they call you on behalf of the provider. If they can't give you this info. don't bother talking to these idiots. For those who wants to see their public IP address you may check this website: "www.whatismyip.com".

by Anonymous on 1970-01-01I wish I had seen this web site before the mongrels caught me off guard. First they get an asian woman who could barely speak English to lull you into a false sense of security then they put me onto their tech Indian. He argued with me, very convincingly and claimed there was no fee and they really were from Microsoft Customare Care and because I had been experiencing a few issues with my computer and sending off error messages I followed their instructions. I thought they were giving me instructions for a fix over the phone but instead I had given them remote access to my computer. After their "test" they told me my software maintenance warranty was out of date and I should pay them to fix it. I told them I couldn't pay and asked them to send the prices via email at which point he baulked and said they didn't do that but gave me the "number" to call. Luckily they didn't get my credit card details however the remote access worried. I eventually tracked down most of the software they had downloaded and removed it (not easy to find) but in doing so I have a constant error message that renders my computer unusable. When he did phone back 2 days later I demanded an address, of course it was phoney, and told them I would go to the police at which point he said he would get on to their head office and call me back. Yeah right. There has to be a way we can bring these ba****ds down.Just goes to show - can't trust anyone these days.
by Anonymous on 1970-01-01I received a phone call from 'Phillip Morris' of Global IT Protection. He said he was calling from New York at (646) 867-3751. He asked if I had reported a problem with my computer. (who hasn't if you deal with Rogers?). Do these people have access to Rogers Help Desk information? He must have got my number from a Rogers database because the trouble call information was only communicated to Rogers over the phone. Rogers... If you are listening, make a note. Are you protecting your trouble call information?

Rose was also the person whose name was 'used'. was ubder pressure in my own office at the same time they phoned (I spoke to more than one person) as well trying to get outside work done on the farm just prior to dark and getting the evening meal ready. by Anonymous on 2011-09-01Had a call from a Sean Lee with a very Indian accent today. He told me his company worked for Microsoft and had shown that it was running slowly. He asked me to go to the control panel and choose settings. I said why should I trust him when he'd just rung me out of the blue so he gave me the company name of www.globalittechnicians.com tel.no. 02035140065 and said when I'd checked them out on the internet he was sure I'd want to call him back for his help. I don't think so!

by Anonymous on 2012-08-28I have just been contacted by phone by a Justin Bradshaw from an Indian Company who say that they are representative of Microsoft Windows and that they are receiving “Error” & “Warning” messages from my computer. They asked me to open my computer and check my “Event Viewer” to show me all the warnings and messages. They then comment on the speed of my computer and ask which software I am using for Malware & Viruses. They are asking me to check their credentials and they steer me to a website: http://www.gitt.com.au/ They want me to give them access to my computer and say they will help sort this out. I also asked them about the cost, the reply was “not to worry about money” and that they would fix my computer this time for free but then there would be a “1 off charge” I asked them to give me their phone number and that I would call them back They gave me this number – (02) 8005 0464 (also (02) 8003 5397) After I hung up I googled their name:- Global IT Technologies This is one of the warnings I found. http://www.reverseaustralia.com/lookup/(02) 8003 5397/ I then rang my IT advisor who confirmed that it is a Scam and that they are voracious at the moment. His Advice was o Ask them to give you the IP address of your computer, their response will be that they are not able to do this as it is in their Head Office o Do not let them have access to your computer!!
