Caller: I don't know but it certainly wasn't PayPalInteresting since when I contacted PayPal they said they don't contact customers by phone and I don't actually have a PayPal account......

Caller: Supposedly PayPalI called the real PayPal through my PayPal account and they said the number is a scam and many people have reported it to them and that if it was them contacting about overdue payments, negative balance or suspicious payments then they would contact clients via email and never phone call, they said the reason why the don’t call is they like to quote your account number and payment/order number in the email so when you do contact them you have that information and also assist with security. PayPal literally told me to block the number.

ignore the racist sh*t. it is confirmed paypal. i've spoken to them a couple of times, scammers might try duplicate this number but every time i've spoken to them it's been paypal and i've made them give me confirmation. they usually just call if you've got paypal debts (haven't paid pay in 4 / account has been in negatives for a significant time)

Scammer call - keeps calling - no caller on other end. Once today I answered and a broken English American accent recorded message started. I have recently had one of my bank accounts and my Paypal hacked - so have canceled cards and waiting replacements, so am very wary of unsolicited calls - and this number is also flagged by Telstra as a scam caller. THIS IS NOT PAYPAL according to PAYPAL! I literally just got off a call to them to query this number!

Caller: Paypal - verified!They called multiple times without leaving a message. I had an issue with payment on a paypal and had requested assistance to sort it out. On calling back and verifying phone number and name they addressed the negative balance without me giving any information about it. The assistant helped me process a payment using my debit card and the transaction showed up in PayPal adding funds. This is legit PayPal.

Caller: Claims to be PayPal I contacted PayPal via my online portal and they said they have no record of trying to reach me by phone. I was called on this number 8 times in the last few days with no message left. PayPal told me that if they did contact me, it would be via a US number. When I called back this number, the person picked up straight away which I also found strange. However, when PayPal actually did call me, I could not use their number to call them back. Furthermore, this Australian number asked for my identification which I did not give. I do not trust that this is a genuine call from PayPal.

Caller: Elizabeth/supposedly paypalSpoke to them as I had overdue balances. Gave name and phone number. She wanted email but I declined. She kept telling me she couldn't help me without it ..while repeated five times I didn't need any help, I just answered out of courtesy and would pay my acc the regular way. Wouldn't let me off the line. I had to hang up on her. Sydney number....very learned American accent.

Caller: Supposedly pay pal but it’s a scam I received this call today so I contacted the real PayPal and they said it’s not their number and to block the number straight away

Actually it isn’t, I called the number back and they said what was over due and gave the specific details, not a scam

Caller: Pay Pal CollectionsI called Pay Pall on 1800 073 263 and was informed that it's not there number. They Suggested it was a scam. The number rings every day. I answered once and told them to email me with the email they have on file. But she wanted my DOB address etc. Just block the number

i do owe paypal over $100 so it makes sense it is them calling me everyday, i shall continue not answering them as i have no money

Caller: They said it was PayPalThis caller claimed I owed money to PayPal. A fraudster had broken into my PayPal account, buying gift cards. This caller is obviously part of the fraud group. The NAB Fraud Assist had rung me, saying there had been suspicious activity on my bank. This fraud group are extremely well organised, first stealing your money, then ringing pretending to be PayPal saying you owe yhem money, and then ringing pretending to be working for the Australian Cyber Security group. The person who claimed to be from Cyber Security knew some details that I hadn't reported, so I asked him where he was. He said St Kilda Road, Melbourne but the number on my screen was 02 9.... (a Sydney number). I suspect this gang is based in India or somewhere outside of Australia, as they don't seem to know the codes for the different States.

Caller: PayPalMissed calls from this number but never leaves a message. I called back from a different number and get an American automated introduction...here's the catch. I DONT HAVE PAYPAL. Block this number.

Caller: Paypal - Real Hey hey, This is not a scam. Simple explanation as to why this number seems like a scam number, their office is in America. To be able to call their Australian customers they need to have their calls diverted to an Australian number. If you call the 1800 number on Paypal, you will be diverted to this number. The online customer service clearly have no idea this was happening lmao. Jim was the guy that answered, he explained everything and gave me information only Paypal would be able to access after I give them my email and phone number (what are they meant to do with that anyways if they were scammers). Once I gave that he was able to tell the exact amount I was over due in Paypal, so 100% it is Paypal, just calling through a diverted number due to them being American based. PS - Jim was wonderful and explained everything super well

Has called me 4 times this morning and also several times yesterday. They never leave a voicemail, and any serious operator would if it were actually urgent given the number of times they call. I suspect this is a scam and have blocked the number.

Caller: PayPalIt is a genuine PayPal accounts receivable number - this is the second time in a couple of years I have spoken to them This time I had set up a pre-order to pay using PayPal, and on the day it was due there was no money in my bank account which immediately threw my PayPal account into a negative balance. Spoke to a nice American lady and let her know that I would settle the balance on the date I next got paid, and I received no further calls. Paid off the negative balance on the date I told them I would.

People saying that this isn't a scam well it is, i called PayPal and gave them the number, they then informed me that they have no record of this number and they are trying to get you're personal information, please be careful with who you give you're personal details out to.

Not paypal. This comment is probably made by the scammer then up voted by them from multiple IPs

It makes sense if it is paypal calling me, seeing as I owe them over one hundred dollars. I don't answer numbers I dont know and will continue not to answer because I have no money, I will pay them eventually
